US Polo Can't Make Fragrances, L'Oreal Tells 2nd Circ.

Law360, New York (January 18, 2013, 6:35 PM ET) -- The U.S. Polo Association's link to the sport of polo does not give it a special right to infringe Polo Ralph Lauren Holdings Inc.'s famous marks, Ralph Lauren licensee L'Oreal USA Inc. told the Second Circuit on Friday.

USPA cannot fall back on its connection to the sport of polo when called to court for allegedly infringing Polo Ralph Lauren's brand, a lawyer for L'Oreal said at oral arguments in Manhattan.
