Antitrust Group Backs USPTO Plan To Record Patent Owners

Law360, New York (January 29, 2013, 7:50 PM ET) -- The American Antitrust Institute on Friday urged the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office to require public filings whenever a patent changes hands, arguing that the current ownership system allows nonpracticing entities and companies with standard essential patents to avoid disclosure and thwart competition.
