Law360, New York (February 20, 2013, 9:26 PM ET) -- The U.S. International Trade Commission said Wednesday that it would take up an investigation into whether electronic dog collars made by a Jarden Corp. subsidiary violate patents held by rival Radio Systems Corp., the company behind PetSafe pet products.
ITC commissioners voted to conduct an investigation concerning Sunbeam Products Inc. electronic collars under Section 337 of the Tariff Act of 1930. RSC, which requested the probe in January, claims Sunbeam's Advanced Bark Control Collar and Mini Bark Control Collar infringe U.S. Patent Number 5,927,233.
