White House Names FTC's Shelanski To Lead Oversight Body

Law360, New York (April 26, 2013, 4:38 PM ET) -- The White House on Thursday nominated Federal Trade Commission official and former Davis Polk & Wardwell LLP attorney Howard Shelanski to head the government oversight body that reviews all agency draft regulations before they are published.

As administrator of the Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs, which is the regulatory reform arm of the U.S. Office of Management and Budget, Shelanski would be responsible for managing the implementation of governmentwide policies and giving the green light to proposals developed by federal agencies.
