Oracle, T-Mobile, McAfee Hit With Data Encryption IP Suits

Law360, New York (April 26, 2013, 7:40 PM ET) -- A Delaware-based patent holder hit Oracle Corp., T-Mobile USA Inc. and McAfee Inc. with infringement allegations Thursday, accusing the tech giants of stealing its document encryption technology.

In two separate lawsuits, Maz Encryption Technologies LLC claims that the three companies are selling computer encryption products and services that infringed patented technology that provides “information security that is transparent and seamless to the users.”

The infringing offerings include Oracle's Advanced Security Transparent Data Encryption and McAfee's Biometric Encrypted USB Standard and Hard Disk, according to the lawsuit....
