Law360, New York (March 07, 2008, 12:00 AM ET) -- The U.S. International Trade Commission has instituted an investigation into PressTek Inc.'s allegations that Israeli printing plate manufacturer VIM Technologies Ltd., its partner Hanita Coatings RCA Ltd. and four North American distributors are infringing patents for printing press technology.
The ITC announced Friday the investigation to determine if the importation or sale of certain laser imageable lithographic printing plates infringes two patents or a trademark issued to PressTek. The investigation will also determine whether an industry exists in the U.S. for the plates.
