DTL, Cingular Strike Deal On Cell Phone Patent

Law360, New York (March 10, 2008, 12:00 AM ET) -- Patent-holding company Digital Technology Licensing LLC has settled its infringement lawsuit against Cingular Wireless LLC and granted Cingular a license to the patent in issue, which covers signal encoding technology used in cell phones, DTL announced Monday.

“The settlement with AT&T Mobility and Cingular follows licensing deals with Nokia, Ericson and Samsung,” said Alexander Poltorak, chief executive officer of General Patent Corp. International, managing member and licensing agent of DTL. “This latest agreement is with the largest cell phone service provider in the U.S.”
