Mobile Planning Co. Says Facebook Events Infringes Patent

Law360, Los Angeles (February 05, 2014, 4:30 PM ET) -- A small California-based company is taking on Facebook Inc. in Delaware federal court, alleging the social media company stole its patented technology for planning get-togethers, according to a suit filed Tuesday.

Mobile Plan-It LLC says Facebook’s Events feature infringes on its U.S. Patent No. 8,312,091, for technology that enables users to plan meetings, invite others to meetings, send emails to proxy accounts about the meetings, and access the features from a cell phone, according to the complaint.
