Some Boutiques Keep Thriving Despite Tough Climate

Law360, New York (May 01, 2008, 12:00 AM ET) -- The decline of the law firm boutique has been well documented over the past decade or so. But some single-discipline firms are still thriving despite a tough economic climate and increased competition from large general practice firms, according to legal consultants and attorneys.

Of the new boutiques out there, commercial litigation firms have probably been the most successful, said Joe Altonji, a vice president in Hildebrandt International Inc.'s Chicago office.
