RIM Sues German Patent Firm Over Radio Phone IP

Law360, New York (May 30, 2008, 12:00 AM ET) -- BlackBerry maker Research In Motion Inc. sued a Germany-based intellectual property holder on Wednesday, hoping to stave off a lawsuit over three patents over radio apparatuses that could relate to cell phones.

According to RIM, IPCom GmbH & Co. KG is the assignee of three patents that could be used against the smartphone maker at some point.
