Law360, New York (June 09, 2008, 12:00 AM ET) -- National train carrier Amtrak has settled a lawsuit in which it was accused by billionaire inventor Ronald A. Katz of infringing patents covering interactive voice applications.
The settlement was approved on May 20 by Judge R. Gary Klausner of the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California, but it was not announced by the parties until Monday.
Under the settlement, Amtrak will pay an undisclosed sum for a nonexclusive license to a portfolio of patents that Katz owns. According to Katz, over 225 companies...
