Law360, New York (April 05, 2006, 12:00 AM ET) -- Only hours after opening arguments, the bench trial between computer giant Gateway Inc. and a former IBM engineer was called off, with both sides agreeing to settle the drawn-out case over alleged technology theft.
The deal, between Gateway and plaintiff Phillip M. Adams, marks the end of an intellectual property battle that has raged since February 2002, when Adams accused Gateway of stealing his data-corruption remedy.
Terms of the settlement were not made public.
