Netflix Slaps Blockbuster With Patent Suit

Law360, New York (April 05, 2006, 12:00 AM ET) -- Netflix Inc., the online DVD rental company, has filed a lawsuit against Blockbuster Inc., accusing the movie rental chain of infringing patents that cover its popular “wish list” feature.

Netflix filed the complaint in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California, alleging that Blockbuster is illegally copying technology that enables millions of online customers to prioritize their DVD selections in an automated queue.
