Law360, New York (September 16, 2008, 12:00 AM ET) -- A federal judge has stayed a patent lawsuit between Negotiated Data Solutions LLC and Dell Inc. pending the approval of a consent decree between N-Data and the U.S. Federal Trade Commission, which promises to resolve some claims in the case.
The consent decree would finalize a decision the FTC reached earlier this year, when it ruled that N-Data had violated competition laws in enforcing its patents. It would include a license covering some of the patent claims asserted in N-Data's lawsuit.
