Dish To Pay $104M After High Court Refuses Appeal

Law360, New York (October 06, 2008, 12:00 AM ET) -- Dish Network Corp. will pay TiVo Inc. about $104 million in damages after the U.S. Supreme Court refused to hear an appeal of a ruling finding the company infringed TiVo's digital video recorder technology.

Dish Network, formerly known as EchoStar Communications Corp., said it would pay the amount after the high court denied the company's petition for writ of certiorari Monday. The payout includes interest that has accrued on the damages since a jury first issued its verdict in 2006.
