Verizon, Vonage Targeted In Patent Suit Over VoIP

Law360, New York (December 08, 2008, 12:00 AM ET) -- In a new lawsuit, patent-holding company Centre One has accused telecommunications titans Verizon Communications Inc., Vonage Holdings Corp. and deltathree Inc. of infringing a patent related to Voice Over Internet Protocol technology.

Centre One lodged the lawsuit on Friday in the U.S District Court for the Eastern District of Texas, claiming that Verizon VoiceWing and other VoIP products made by the defendants infringe a patent titled “Method and apparatus for interfacing a public switched telephone network and an Internet protocol network for multi-media communication.”
