Rambus Ruling Watched Closely By Chip Makers

Law360, New York (August 04, 2006, 12:00 AM ET) -- The legal landscape may look bleak for Rambus Inc. after the U.S. Federal Trade Commission’s recent antitrust ruling against the technology-licensing company, but Rambus is confident the decision isn’t a death-knell for its related cases.

Last week, the FTC ruled that Rambus intentionally deceived a standard-setting body into adopting industry-wide standards for memory-chip equipment, even as it secretly patented the technology on the side.
