Law360, New York (August 11, 2006, 12:00 AM ET) -- U.S. biotechnology giant Monsanto Co. does not have legal grounds to pursue a claim against Argentina over the company’s genetically modified Roundup Ready soybeans, say legal experts at the European Commission.
On Thursday, Argentine Economy Minister Felisa Miceli revealed that E.U. officials had sent a letter backing the country’s argument that soybean byproducts are not covered under European patents held by Monsanto.
