HP, Global Settle Suit Over Data Security Patents

Law360, New York (April 07, 2009, 12:00 AM ET) -- Hewlett-Packard Co. has reached a deal with patent-holding company Global Innovation Holdings LLC in a lawsuit that accuses several technology companies of infringing two data security patents.

Judge Federico Moreno of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida dismissed HP with prejudice Friday, two days after Global filed a motion for voluntary dismissal.

According to the motion, HP and Global agreed to a settlement, however the parties could not immediately be reached for comment on the deal.
