Medicis, Perrigo Settle Fight Over Dermatitis Drug

Law360, New York (April 15, 2009, 12:00 AM ET) -- Medicis Pharmaceutical Corp. and Perrigo Israel Pharmaceuticals Ltd. have resolved a patent suit over Medicis’ steroid skin cream Vanos, which is used to treat dermatological disorders such as psoriasis and dermatitis.

Scottsdale, Ariz.-based Medicis announced the licensing and settlement agreement in a filing made to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission on Tuesday.

The agreement allows Perrigo to market a generic version of Vanos and ends the lawsuit, which was filed by Medicis in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Michigan.
