Law360, New York (June 24, 2009, 12:00 AM ET) -- International corporate law firm Norton Rose Group will absorb more than 500 attorneys and five offices from Deacons, Australia's eighth-largest law firm, when the two combine under the Norton Rose name on Jan. 1.
Partners at both firms gave their respective go-aheads on Monday to the deal, which the firms say will give Norton Rose one of the largest international legal presences in the critical Pacific Rim market, with more than 700 attorneys in 12 offices covering the region from Tokyo to Sydney.
