Law360, New York (November 13, 2009, 4:32 PM ET) -- Jones Day reportedly has demoted five of its London partners — about 10 percent of the partners in that office — to of counsel since the beginning of 2009 as American firms continue to scale back their domestic and international operations.
The demoted partners are in the firm's real estate, company/commercial, capital markets and pensions departments, legal blog RollonFriday reported Friday. RollonFriday said it had received unconfirmed reports of a sixth demoted partner.
A Jones Day representative was not immediately available for comment.
