Drinker Biddle Lays Out Pay For 1st-Year Associates

Law360, New York (January 19, 2010, 7:17 PM ET) -- Drinker Biddle & Reath LLP shed light Tuesday on how it will compensate young attorneys under its recently adopted merit-based compensation model.

The firm said new associates will take home $105,000 as they partake in the firm’s six-month training program, and, after graduating from the program to become Level 1 associates, earn $130,000 or $145,000, depending on where in the country they practice.

The new system includes four tiers of associate pay, with lawyers advancing from levels 1 through 4 based on merit.
