Law360, New York (January 22, 2010, 2:54 PM ET) -- The U.S. House Judiciary Committee will discuss the future of U.S. District Judge G. Thomas Porteous after the committee's impeachment task force voted unanimously to impeach him in light of allegations of bankruptcy fraud and the solicitation of cash from lawyers.
According to a 27-page markup released Thursday, the task force approved four articles of impeachment relating to separate allegations of ethical misconduct by Judge Porteous, nominated in 1994 by President Bill Clinton to the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana.
