House Committee Votes To Impeach Porteous

Law360, New York (January 27, 2010, 6:38 PM ET) -- The House Judiciary Committee voted unanimously to approve articles of impeachment against U.S. District Judge G. Thomas Porteous on Wednesday, sending the matter for a vote in the full U.S. House of Representatives.

Committee member Rep. Adam Schiff, R-Calif., told the New Orleans Web site Nola.com that the full House is likely to vote soon on the future of Porteous, who was nominated in 1994 by President Bill Clinton to the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana.
