Legal Industry Loses 3,900 Jobs In June

Law360, New York (July 06, 2010, 2:01 PM ET) -- The legal sector shed 3,900 jobs in June amid modest job gains in private employment overall, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics' monthly jobs report.

The seasonally adjusted preliminary results of the BLS report, released Friday, found there were 1,099,600 legal service jobs in June compared to 1,103,500 in May.

Meanwhile, the BLS reported Friday that the legal industry lost 600 jobs in May, going from 1,104,100 to 1,103,500. The BLS had initially reported a gain of 300 legal sector jobs in May, but...
