Law360, New York (July 23, 2010, 6:43 PM ET) -- With more lawyers than ever expected to face de-equitization this year, experts gave Law360 their advice on how to avoid getting the bad news, and what to do if it's unavoidable.
Thirty-seven percent of respondents to a June 22 survey by consulting firm Altman Weil Inc. said their firms would or might de-equitize partners in 2010, while 17 percent of respondents said they might expand or create a nonequity partner tier, and 27 percent said they de-equitized partners in 2009.
