Law360, New York (July 21, 2010, 7:05 PM ET) -- Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger said Wednesday that he had picked Justice Tani Cantil-Sakauye, who currently sits on the California Court of Appeals, to serve as chief justice of the state's highest court.
Justice Cantil-Sakauye, 50, is a Republican who has spent the last two decades on the California state court bench. If elected, she would serve a 12-year term on the California Supreme Court and become the first Filipino-American to occupy the role.
