Lateral Movement Slows Down In 3rd Quarter

Law360, New York (October 01, 2010, 6:12 PM ET) -- The hot summer months of July and August had a cooling effect on legal industry hiring, if the 14 percent drop in lateral movement in the third quarter of 2010 is any indication.

A total of 494 partners, shareholders, of counsel, special counsel and managing partners moved to new firms in the third quarter, compared to 574 who sought new positions in the previous quarter, according to data Law360 compiled from law firm news releases.
