Law360, New York (November 04, 2010, 7:33 PM ET) -- Morgan Lewis & Bockius LLP has decided not to abandon a lockstep system in favor of a competency model for determining associates' base salaries.
Morgan Lewis associates who meet the firm's expectations will get base salaries in 2011 that are commensurate with the prevailing market level for their class year, while the firm will pay merit-based bonuses, according to a statement from Charles Engros Jr., one of the firm's managing partners.
