Law360, New York (October 03, 2011, 4:39 PM ET) -- A report released on Monday shows that U.S. law firm mergers and acquisitions have surged in 2011, with 43 combinations announced between January and September — a 79 percent increase over the same nine-month period in 2010.
Fourteen law firm tie-ups were announced in the third quarter of 2011 alone, and the merger market is expected to remain strong throughout the fourth quarter, according to legal management consulting firm Altman Weil Inc.
