Florida Adopts New Rules For E-Discovery

Law360, New York (July 6, 2012, 7:50 PM ET) -- The Supreme Court of Florida on Thursday unanimously approved new rules on discovery of electronically stored information, giving the state's courts clear guidelines for the first time on how to handle evidence contained in a sea of electronic data that can often overwhelm a case.

The court adopted seven amendments to the state's Rules of Civil Procedure, according to the order Thursday, capping off years of study by the bar association on how to properly deal with emails, Microsoft Word documents, video surveillance records and more....
