Herbert Smith Freehills Ditches Plans For Guinea Office

Law360, New York (September 06, 2013, 6:55 PM ET) -- International law firm Herbert Smith Freehills LLP has called off plans to launch an office in Guinea, which would have been its first outpost in Africa, saying in a Friday statement that it will continue to serve its clients from other existing offices.

Representatives for the firm, created by last year’s merger of London-based Herbert Smith LLP and Australia-based Freehills, would not disclose further details on why the firm pulled out of its planned launch of an office in Guinea’s capital of Conakry.
