Gov. Perry Names Texas Supreme Court Appointment

Law360, Dallas (September 26, 2013, 6:45 PM ET) -- Texas Gov. Rick Perry on Thursday elevated an intermediate state appellate court judge in Houston to fill an open seat on the Supreme Court of Texas.

Judge Jeff Brown was first appointed to the Fourteenth District Court of Appeals in 2007 and previously served a six-year stint as a district court judge in Houston. Before joining the bench, he was an associate for about five years at Baker Botts LLP and clerked for former Texas Supreme Court justices Jack Hightower and now-Attorney General Greg Abbott....
