Fla. Bar Forms Task Force To Raise State Bench Diversity

Law360, Miami (February 27, 2014, 6:50 PM ET) -- Concerned about a lack of diversity in the state's judicial ranks, Florida Bar President Eugene K. Pettis announced Wednesday that he has created a task force to encourage more diversity on the state bench.

Pettis said the 10-member President’s Task Force to Study the Enhancement of Diversity on the Bench and the Judicial Nominating Commissions, which will be led by Berger Singerman LLP partner Frank Scruggs II of Fort Lauderdale, will look into why there isn't a more diverse mix among candidates applying to become judges...
