Law360, New York (October 31, 2008, 12:00 AM ET) -- A recession may be a boon for plaintiffs attorneys targeting corporate America, but lawyers defending companies against the predicted wave of litigation may have a secret weapon against their courtroom adversaries in these uncertain times: the tightfisted juror.

As the financial crisis takes its toll, plaintiffs seeking millions of dollars in damages could find themselves facing an unsympathetic panel of their peers, whose concerns about the economy, some jury experts said, may well translate into conservative awards.
