Law360, New York (December 04, 2008, 12:00 AM ET) -- K&L Gates LLP and Bell Boyd & Lloyd LLP announced Thursday that they are in talks to merge, a move that would create a firm with about 2,000 lawyers on three continents.
Global firm K&L Gates currently has about 1,740 lawyers in its 28 offices, while Chicago-based Bell Boyd has 255 lawyers in its three offices in Chicago, San Diego and Washington. K&L Gates does not have offices in either San Diego or Chicago.
