Law360, New York (December 16, 2008, 12:00 AM ET) -- Seeking to reduce costs, Latham & Watkins LLP has opted to freeze associate pay for the upcoming year as the firm attempts to stick to a no-layoff pledge in the midst of the financial crisis.
On Tuesday, the BigLaw firm became the first to announce that associate salaries for 2009 would remain at the same level as those for 2008, with the internal e-mail later surfacing on legal gossip blog Above the Law.
