Law360, New York (April 09, 2009, 12:00 AM ET) -- The surge of spring law firm layoffs continued Thursday with Vedder Price PC shedding nine associates and intellectual property firm Townsend and Townsend and Crew LLP letting go of 16 lawyers in addition to 45 staff members.
A representative for Vedder Price confirmed Thursday that the firm had let go nine transactional attorneys, reducing its staff by 4 percent.
Townsend also confirmed its layoffs Thursday. “We made these layoffs after exhausting every other cost cutting avenue,” a representative for the firm said.
