Law360, New York (April 17, 2009, 12:00 AM ET) -- Kirkland & Ellis LLP has laid off a “small percentage” of the staff in its Chicago; New York; and Washington, D.C., offices.
On Friday, a Kirkland spokeswoman confirmed a report by the legal blog Above the Law about the layoffs, but said that the firm was not releasing the number of cuts.
The staff members losing their jobs were notified on Friday. No attorneys were cut.
Kirkland & Ellis cut 15 to 25 nonequity partners in January.
