Law360, New York (May 01, 2009, 12:00 AM ET) -- Just over a month after announcing plans to merge, McGuireWoods LLP and London-based international law firm Grundberg Mocatta Rakison LLP have finalized their agreement following unanimous approval of the deal from both firms' partnerships.
The combination became effective immediately Friday, with Grundberg Mocatta's London office becoming McGuireWoods' first U.K. location. The firm also plans to increase the size of the London office by 50 percent and has hired two new attorneys to join the practice, it said.
