Acambis Says Willing To Settle In Patent Fight

Law360, New York (September 13, 2006, 12:00 AM ET) -- The head of Acambis said Wednesday the company would be willing to settle its patent dispute with Bavarian Nordic over a smallpox vaccine, but that he’s not optimistic the companies can come to an agreement.

Last week, an International Trade Commission administrative law judge ruled that Bavarian Nordic's patents for a smallpox vaccine are invalid, giving rival Acambis a leg up in a fight over millions of dollars in U.S. anti-terror funding.
