Quidel Strikes Back With Patent Lawsuits Against Rivals

Law360, New York (February 23, 2004, 12:00 AM ET) -- Only a week after being hit by a lawsuit by rival Inverness in Germany, Medical device maker Quidel Corporation struck back with its own patent infringement lawsuit against Inverness and Applied Biotech over lateral-flow technology used in diagnostic tests.

The complaint, filed on Feb. 20, 2004, in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of California, seeks a preliminary injunction against Inverness and Applied Biotech products that allegedly infringe Quidel's patented technology.
