Law360, New York (March 23, 2010, 3:53 PM ET) -- Nostrum Pharmaceuticals Inc. has become the latest defendant to settle in Shire LLC's string of patent infringement suits over Carbatrol, paving the way for Nostrum to bring a generic version of the epilepsy treatment to market.
Judge Mary L. Cooper of the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey approved the settlement agreement Monday.
Under the deal, Shire granted Nostrum a license to the two patents-in-suit, and in return Nostrum acknowledged that the patents were valid and enforceable in all respects.
