Law360, New York (July 08, 2010, 3:24 PM ET) -- Irish pharmaceutical company Shire Development Inc. has sued generic-drug manufacturer Zydus Pharmaceuticals USA Inc. in an attempt to stop it from introducing its own version of inflammatory bowel disease drug Lialda.
Shire lodged its complaint in the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware on Wednesday, claiming Zydus has infringed U.S. Patent Number 6,773,720 by filing an abbreviated new drug application with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for generic Lialda.
