ITC Initiates Probe Over Invacare Medical Bed Patents

Law360, New York (September 02, 2010, 3:06 PM ET) -- The U.S. International Trade Commission has agreed to investigate medical equipment manufacturer Invacare Corp.'s claims that rival Medical Depot Inc. and a China-based exporter have infringed four patents related to adjustable-height medical beds.

The probe, announced Thursday by the ITC, comes after Invacare filed a complaint Aug. 5 accusing Medical Depot — which operates as Drive Medical Design and Manufacturing — and Shanghai Shunlong Physical Therapy Equipment Co.
