Law360, New York (November 09, 2010, 5:44 PM ET) -- Dexatrim, a weight loss product implicated in product liability litigation over the health risks of phenylpropanolamine, is now facing a class action alleging the pill contains a dangerous carcinogen.
The lawsuit, filed Nov. 4 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Indiana, contends that the product contains hexavalent chromium, a known carcinogen. The suit was filed against Chattem Inc., which makes the product and was recently purchased by Sanofi-Aventis.
