Law360, New York (June 29, 2011, 6:01 PM ET) -- Following a two-day hearing, a U.S. Food and Drug Administration advisory panel on Wednesday unanimously voted to yank approval for the use of Genentech Inc.'s drug Avastin in treating breast cancer patients.
All six voting members of the FDA's Oncologic Drugs Advisory Committee concluded that Avastin is unsafe for treating metastatic breast cancer and urged FDA Commissioner Margaret Hamburg to withdraw approval for such usage.
