Jury Sides With Coloplast In IP Row Over Bladder Device

Law360, New York (May 08, 2012, 7:30 PM ET) -- A Washington federal jury has ruled that a generic medical device maker infringed a Coloplast A/S patent on implants used to treat urinary incontinence in women, Coloplast announced Tuesday.

Generic Medical Devices Inc. was found liable for infringement of six claims of U.S. Patent Number 7,621,864, which covers technology used in Coloplast's Aris sling, an implantable device used to help women suffering incontinence regain bladder control. GMD was ordered to pay $159,775 related to the infringement, according to the jury verdict, which came down April 30....
