Law360, New York (May 17, 2012, 5:42 PM ET) -- Eyeing a brave new world of health care technology, the chairman of the Federal Communications Commission on Thursday unleashed plans for freeing up bandwidth that would allow wireless monitoring of patient vital signs in and out of hospitals.
Regulators and private sector forces are trumpeting the potential of so-called medical body area networks, saying they could provide up-to-the-second diagnoses that save both lives and money.
"This new monitoring technology will result in higher-quality care, lower health care costs — how does it get better than that?"...
